I am the artist and creator of Imaginary Western Landscapes, I grew up Glenview, Ill and currently live in Des Plaines. My artistic journey began at the age of 27 unwittingly, after I moved to Boise, Idaho to travel the west with a good friend. It was a great time of self discovery, as we soaked in hot springs and climbed mountain trails from Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming to Multnomah Falls, Oregon. I wasn’t aware of how all these places where indelibly etched into my mind and heart until he introduced me to acrylic paints. The simple landscape paintings that I produced at the time left a big impression on him, so he decided to send me home with a paint set and brushes as farewell gift. Over the years, as my artistic skills have grown more cohesive with every landscape that I have created, I have been able to weave hidden images into the narrative of each painting. This adds to the mystical and spiritual elements that appear in all of my art work. It is my goal to draw the viewer in and take them on a wild ride through lands unknown and to allow them to experience the feeling of walking through a landscape painting that both excites and tickles their own imagination.
