I first began creating art when I took a digital camera to an abandoned factory in my hometown in 2022. I was proud of the photos that I took, so I took a risk and sent them to the factory's owner. I was pleasantly surprised when he offered me a tour of the site and a spot in an exhibition about the factory's history. Since then, I have been extremely motivated to continue sharing my art. I was not at all comfortable with putting myself out there, but I saw the rewards of doing so firsthand. My work in psychology focuses on self-confidence and the embrace of anxiety, and I have worked hard to practice what I preach. I've learned to use my anxiety as a motivator and have not regretted it at all. In the past year, I sold my first prints, participated in my first art show, and most importantly, started to think of myself as an artist. Each time I walk into a coffee shop to ask to display my prints or apply for an art show, it feels easier and easier.
