Lisa Matway

Artist on VibrantCast

Lisa Matway is a self-taught artist whose art is an exploration of emotion, movement, and the deeper undercurrents of human experience, inspired by a deeply personal journey. After returning to art—a long-lost passion from her youth—Lisa found new purpose and expression through the lens of her husband, Jerry Overton, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2018. Jerry has always lived a life rooted in motion—from competitive tennis to marathon running. Even as Parkinson’s affects his balance and coordination, his relentless commitment to daily movement continues to inspire Lisa’s creative process. Each piece Lisa creates reflects Jerry’s perseverance and rhythm, fused with her own emotional depth. Through blended colors, dynamic lines, and evocative forms, her work invites viewers to look inward and interpret the art through their own experiences. Together, Lisa and Jerry founded Matway Overton Design (MOD), a creative initiative dedicated to supporting the Parkinson’s community. Proceeds from every artwork sold go toward research and programs benefiting individuals living with Parkinson’s and the care partners who walk beside them.
