Michael Brooks

Artist on VibrantCast

Michael Brooks is a Chicago-based artist and practicing physician working primarily in oil on canvas. Trained in representational methods through study with a teacher from the School of Representational Art he has continued his education through local mentorship and workshops including Juan Ramirez. Brooks has exhibited at ARC Gallery (Chicago), the Chicago Fine Arts Salon, and in group shows in Madison, Wisconsin, with solo presentations through the Healing Through the Arts medical program. His figurative work seeks to hold emotion before it becomes narrative—treating the painting not as an idea explained, but as the feeling itself.
