Mimi Ozormoor
Artist on VibrantCast
Mimi Ozormoor (they/he) is a Chicago based, Filipino-Nigerian mixed media artist, printmaker, and illustrator on a mission to find ways to document states of feeling, moments of time, in a way that leaves no waste behind. They are fueled by being emotionally vulnerable online, time capsules, puzzles, decora fashion, gift stores, and off-brand merchandise. They are currently in their final year at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a focus in printmedia. ... The way that we express ourselves on the internet, the way we vent, the way we gush over people, the times we enter text-based streams of consciousness with rapid images flashing in our faces; how do we evoke that through physical expression? How do we document our feelings in a way, more public than a diary, that won't suddenly go away once technology disappears? How do I really show the world that I exist? How do I make something and not become forgotten? ... Just like Mimi, their art is cute, emotional, messy, complex, but still asking for your time and patience.
