Weston D. Morris is an interdisciplinary visual artist, animator, and educator whose work spans video, sound, photography, digital imaging, animation, and mixed-media hybrid forms. His practice explores media culture, perception, memory, and the expressive possibilities that emerge when contemporary technologies intersect with tactile analog processes. Morris earned his undergraduate degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he studied with influential artists working at the forefront of art and technology, including Doris Vila, Edward Wesley, Ellen Sandor, George E. Lewis, and Eduardo Kac. Their experimental approaches helped shape his ongoing engagement with digital tools as creative instruments, while his continued use of drawing, film photography, found media, and vinyl sound culture reflects a sustained commitment to material processes and media histories. He later completed a Master’s degree in Animation at DePaul University, studying with leading animation artists and industry practitioners whose expertise in narrative motion, design, and time-based media further expanded his interdisciplinary approach.
