Lo que vi en el sueño

This piece was inspired by one of my favorite frida kahlo paintings “Lo que agua me dio(What the Water Gave Me)”. In Frida’s painting, she used symbolism to represent impactful memories and fears that arose throughout her life. For my piece, I used symbols that came to me in my dreams to represent moments and deep fears in my own life. SYMBOLS: **Moon on Fire-** I had a dream a while ago that consisted of me looking up at the sky, and seeing the moon on fire with thousands of black crows surrounding. It was as if the crows were trying to warn others or somehow get to the moon. It felt like the end of the world. I felt hopeless, confused, and mad at the world. **The Dump-** I dreamt once that I was walking along an open road on my way home. The sky was a piercing blue and it was sunny out. As I was walking, I looked around and surrounding me was miles and miles of trash towering over me, making me feel as small as an ant. Suddenly, the blue sky felt horrific and the sun felt like it was melting me. This signifies my deep fear of climate change and the future of our planet. I have many dreams like this. **The Crocodile-** I’ve had many dreams with crocodiles.
