Serenading Venus
by Lazaro Villarreal
$850
In Serenading Venus, the artist transports us to a dreamlike oasis, a vision of an opulent island untouched by time yet rich with life. Swirling waters, rendered in deep and dynamic blues, create a rhythmic dance that carries vibrant koi fish through a surreal landscape. Delicate lily pads and blossoms punctuate the surface, their lush greens and warm florals offering moments of stillness amid the movement. The unexpected elements—a tea cup resting on a floating leaf, a plate of cake with a single fork—add a sense of whimsy and mystery, blurring the line between reality and fantasy. The composition suggests both serenity and indulgence, evoking the allure of a paradise the artist has never visited yet deeply longs for.
