Materials: Acrylic paint Description: When looking at a loved one through pictures, it can feel distant. Even more so when they are not with us, have forgotten us, or simply are beyond our physical reach. It can feel hazey, unclear, and complex to understand what they mean to us. However, there's color in ever thought and emotion we have for them. The layers of it all can allow us to find solace in our hearts explaining the process of holding onto someone who isn't here. This piece was inspired through a family portrait. The two people are my abuelos. The painting depicts my relationship with my abuela who has alzheimers and abuelo who passed before I was born. Both who live and lived miles away.
