Cold and Clear

"Cold and Clear" captures the serene beauty of nature in a picturesque landscape. Measuring 9x11 inches, this pastel artwork invites viewers into a tranquil scene where a shallow stream winds its way through sparse brush in the foothills. The horizon is crowned by majestic, snow-capped mountains, standing tall and magnificent against the sky. The vibrant fall colors are breathtaking, with the crisp yellows and deep purples evoking the essence of those perfect autumn days when the air is cool and fresh. The stream, clear and gentle, appears so shallow that one can imagine stepping right into it, feeling the cool water and following its path to uncover where it leads through the brush. This piece is a harmonious play of opposites: contrasting hues of warm yellows and cool purples, the dynamic flow of water against the steadfast rock, and the coexistence of delicate grass with robust trees. Each element is balanced, creating a scene that is both dynamic and peaceful, inviting the viewer to pause, breathe, and immerse themselves in the natural beauty and tranquility it exudes.
