I had just come back from my first solo travel trip, a trip in which I feel I learnt so much about myself and evolved mentally and spiritually. To symbolize this evolution, I decided to paint this portrait. I wanted to combine both my dreams and fears in this painting, overruling representing the energy I was feeling in that moment of my life. This painting has a lot of symbols. In the top right, I painted the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, a place I have dreamt of visiting ever since I was a little girl. I have been utterly fascinated by the pyramids my whole life, I think and wonder about them all the time, and my deepest desire is to see them with my own two eyes in my lifetime. I painted a fish coming out of its fish bowl, which represents the leap I took when I booked a one way ticket by myself to Europe.
