This painting was for a Greek Festival in Chicago. I grew up going to Greek Orthodox ,Catholic,Christian Churches but more so Greek Orthodox. So for the festival I decided to Paint Apollo. He was a Greek and Roman god of many things, including music, dance, archery, healing, truth, prophecy, and the sun. I chose a Blue Hue because everything Greek is Blue. Greeks have no word to decribe the word blue. A study found that Greek speakers are better and faster at distinguishing shades of blue than English speakers. Blue also is to keep "the evil eye"- away. I usually sign in the corner or on the back of my paintings.
