Like I Just

This small oil painting uses a screenshot from Madonna's Ray of Light music video as well as an image of a boxer sourced from social media. The pairing of these two images depicts my interpretation of Ray of Light. While on the surface the song seems to be joyous and celebratory, I can't help but feel it belies at least some level of cognitive dissonance or psychological schism between the narrator's experience and reality.
