$350
This powerful painting depicts a moment of divine transcendence, Christ’s Ascension, as He rises into the heavens surrounded by an ethereal golden light. The composition highlights the contrast between the dark stormy clouds above and the heavenly light breaking through, emphasizing the sacred nature of the event. Christ is portrayed at the center, wearing a flowing red and white robe, symbolizing divinity and sacrifice. His outstretched arms and serene expression convey peace and triumph as He ascends above the earthly realm. At His feet, two Roman guards lie prostrate and overwhelmed, their postures illustrating shock and awe at witnessing the miraculous scene. The rocky terrain and the open tomb symbolize resurrection and victory over death. Zdenek’s use of light and shadow masterfully draws attention to Christ, who radiates with supernatural brilliance, while the darkened surroundings reflect the worldly turmoil left behind. The soft greens and earth tones ground the scene in nature, balancing the dramatic sky above. This piece captures themes of hope, faith, and spiritual redemption, showcasing Zdenek’s ability to blend religious symbolism with emotional storytelling.
