This painting was 1 of 8 from my thesis work in undergrad. The broad message was celebrating queer eroticism, love and intimacy. This image comes from a photo I took of a couple that are dear friends of mine. The love, support and allure they have for each other needed to be captured and celebrated. Given the climate that LGBTQ+ people face today, it is important that queer bodies receive a positive spotlight. This painting captures a moment of tenderness, love and desire that transcends boundaries of gender, sexuality and social or political norms. A simple but effective image exposing certain matters of the heart.
