Panel 05

This abstract piece is inspired by the love for money and power. It is made from a dataset of the political careers of every Chicago city council member from 1923 to 2020. The 50 rows represent 50 wards starting from 1 at the bottom to 50 at the top. Each column represents a year, and the large green zeros indicate when a new politician took office. The black numbers represent years when an elected official who ended up convicted of corruption held office. While many hold office for the love of Chicago, this abstraction visualizes the lover for money and power over the past one hundred years.
