Bean There Done That 2

I love people watching here, seeing how crowds interact with Cloud Gate, Anish Kapoor's stunning art installation in Millennium Park. Nicknamed 'The Bean' it really seemed to capture the public's imagination. This piece is created from my original photograph and digitally coloured. I've used bright bold colours to highlight the people enjoying the sculpture even in its reflection, and to give it a pop-art feel. I sold the first edition to a lady who was sitting in the exact position of the woman in pink at the back, when her son phoned to tell her he had got into medical school. So the piece reminded her of that emotional moment. The image is printed on a super-slim sheet of brushed aluminum which brings out the colours and gives the skyline an etched appearance.
