Blues in the Night

I've always had a torn relationship between music and painting.... I created this painting when I initially moved to Chicago and 200-2009 after I recorded a jazz album called (BYOB, Bring your own Blues). Painting allows me to express and create without having the need for musicians or producers. . When you perform.. sing it record your not alone. I had the ability to work ith amazing trio of a musicians and then you have to produce it and you have to go into recordings to any or working with them sound engineers and so on and so on it's a lot of work. With painting it's just me and a brush and music playing in the background... it allows me to be a little freer in solitude. This painting is called Blues the night , and you see a piano and you have a figure playing a saxophone. it is predominantly in blues to reflect the title.. I've always loved wind and string instruments and how they bring a song together. Audio music created by me, song title, "Black Coffee"
