MAN OF OIL

I created this installation during a state of reflection over being born into a world and a future I have no control over. A world of technology and innovation. A world of overconsumption. A world where we can watch wars and the world burn, through a screen in our back pocket. I wanted to immerse the viewer so they experience this feeling of reflection alongside of me, where they are witnessing with me. I placed myself into the painting to represent this. The baby in the womb represents the feeling of innocence and helplessness. The feeling of trying to constantly adapt and accept what is. This piece is an ode to what it feels like to live in the 21st century as a young person.” Song credits: Man of Oil by Animal Collective ACRYLIC ON TAPESTRY This painting is available for purchase.
