Inside my Inner World

This painting was inspired by the countless hours I’ve spent on public transportation. One of my favorite activities is to daydream while looking out the window, reflecting and observing everything pass by. I find solace in diving into my inner world, while looking out onto the outer world around me. I romanticize my life deeply on these train rides, often listening to my favorite music in my headphones as I watch the world pass by. I think about past memories and bathe in nostalgia. Or I imagine my future, thinking of all the possibilities and things that could happen. Or, I just simply observe the buildings that pass by, observe the people around me, coming up with my own narratives and stories. In this painting, I wanted to experiment and utilize old sketchbook drawings and intertwine them into a painting. I used a gel transfer method to transfer my sketchbook drawings onto the canvas. I collaged all of the doodles together, which can be seen in the window. This painting goes out to all of the daydreamers out there. This painting is available for purchase.
