Flipnote Girl (In Memory of My Brother's DSI)
by Mimi Ozormoor
$40
Wood-block print and carved rubber stamps. 2023. Flipnote Studio was an animation application made for the Nintendo DSI. Growing up, I used to watch my brother would show me the stick figure battles he'd animate on his DSI, which was stolen from us shortly after. Sometimes I imagine what it would've been like if I had a chance to use Flipnote myself. In the form of a multi-block relief print, I wanted to replicate the process of tracing hand drawn layers, repetitive markmaking, and duplication.
