"Chrysalis" is inspired by the process of introspection. The painter looks up to the humanoid figure encased in a fluffy, blue cloud. This clay figure wears a watch as a collar. I found this striking image to be a metaphor for how our human conscience tends to be shackled by a worry with time. We spend so much of our lives thinking of the past or future when only the present is real.
