The Mystical Oracle of Love is a piece that speaks to younger versions of myself, from the crafty kid making Valentine’s for her classmates, to the tween asking a paper cootie catcher if she’ll get her first kiss soon, to the 20-something deciphering text messages from suitors met on dating apps. In each of these younger selves, I wanted an oracle to tell me that love was possible and coming for me. This functional, youthful oracle board with detachable planchette ask the questions, “Will this board provide that mystical promise of true love and romantic fulfillment? Or is the desire to use the oracle promise enough?”
